Additionally, an individual flower can be splashed with different colors. Another interesting point is a color-changing phenomenon. For example, in the yellow variety, as the plant matures, it can display flowers that gradually change to a dark pink color. Similarly white flowers can change to light violet.

can you tell me how you have to plante these and any thing else you have on them I am starting a green house this fall and try to collect all the seed that I can.Fanned you. My husband all ready got some seeds from you one other time and they are doing great.

Soak the seeds overnight to soften up the hull. The soaking will allow the seeds to germinate more quickly once planted.
Plant the seeds in a sterile soil medium at a depth of about 1/4 inch. Plant the seeds about 10 to 12 inches apart. Four o'clocks do well in the full sun. Although these flowers prefer lots of sunlight, they can tolerate partial shade.
Thin the seedlings to one to two feet apart once they have started to grow. The four o'clock will grow tall, about 2 to 4 feet. They need space to spread out.

Propagate the four o'clocks by gathering seeds for next years' planting or by digging up the tubers. The tubers should be stored in a cool, dark area until the last frost has passed.
