This is an older piece of fine Handpainted Porcelai. The beauty is extraordinary and if one is a collector of Japanese art this one is for you. The colors are fabulous as well as the hand painting techniques. A must have for your dresser! Purchased in Japan in the 60's. Many Blessings and enjoy the bidding!

Hello River Queen. I have the lid opened in front of me and it has a Japanese signature on it. On the bottom it says Satsuma Porcelai. I am not positive as it was purchased by another who was in Japan. Thanks for asking questions. Blessings, Mazie
