A thriller/comedy, this movie is set in the US circa 1949. It is very well acted and surprisingly believable. You will enjoy it to the end. It is a tale of jealousy, betrayal, adultery and murder. Each character is superbly portrayed. Rachel McAdams plays the mistress, dating a married man who truly loves his wife but just finds her a bit ho-hum. Pierce Brosnan plays the best friend who desires the mistress for
his own. Patricia Clarkson plays the housefrau with her own secret to hide. Chris Cooper plays the philandering husband who isn't satisfied. The movie plot is very enjoyable.

This movie reminded me of old Hollywood. It was very cute and at times funny, but also had a Machiavellian side to it. The actors were superb, each excellent in his own way. Definitely a movie worth seeing. :)

All of the cast did an amazing job acting in this movie, especially the wayward husband. If you like Rachel McAdams, you will love this movie. :)
