Bare with me as I've never sewn before. Are these used to craft out these designs? as in they are reusable?

no, not re-usable... but you can use them to cut out others, such as like a pattern, but once you sew them with yarn or cord, they are permanent. Trying to remove yarn or cord could break the plastic
