This animated version of Victor Hugo's classic novel tells the story of a beautiful gypsy girl, Esmeralda. She is in Notre Dame Cathedral on Fool's Day when the pitiless Archdeacon, Frollo, sees her & falls in love. He sends the hunchback bellringer, Quasimodo to catch the girl, but he fails the task & is arrested. She aids him after a flogging, but later is mistaken for a witch. Quasimodo returns the favor by rescuing her & brings her back to the cathedral where he befriends the beautiful gypsy..
