Description

The listing, Colorful "Calico" Confusion Chili Pepper has ended.

Some say it's a hybrid. Others say it's a ancient heirloom. Everyone agrees ~ it is beautiful! Striking variegated patchwork of tricolor (purple~white~green) foliage along deep, dark purple stalks ~ nearly fluorescent purple flowers produce upright, glossy black fruit that ripen to a fiery red. Extremely heat-tolerant, it's great for landscaping or adds an exciting accent to mixed containers. WARNING; Fruits can be eaten but are >>ExtReMeLy<< hot!!

I grew my "Calico" from seed labeled F2 hybrid ~ basically meaning the generation after the original Calico. They're protected from crossing w/ other pepper varieties & harvested at the ripe stage. (http://www.mr-fothergills-trade.com/uploads/resources/15_hybrid-seeds-explained.pdf) As you can see, it's a lovely pepper plant & seems relatively true. I haven't tasted the peppers & won't. I'm a chili whimp when it comes to lots of heat. I have read they're hot (woozerz, hurt me hot!) & fruity tasting.

Until I know for certain that these are an heirloom variety, I cannot in good conscience call them "Calico". So for the purpose of this auction I am calling them "Calico Confusion" chilies. TTBOMK, the seeds I am offering are F3.

BEWARE ROSE SEEDS! There's GOOD reasons why rose seeds AREN'T sold in big garden centers. More info here; http://goo.gl/0UJZry
Beware home collected seeds from hybrid plants. They're no longer the same variety. Ask questions. Research >reliable< sources.
Beware! "GREEN" bell peppers are UNRIPE bell peppers & aren't likely to provide VIABLE seeds. Very few varieties ripen to green. Same for GREEN Jalapeno & most other pepper varieties. It only take minutes to check the variety & discover the color of the RIPE pepper.
Beware "Bonsai" seeds are misleading! http://www.bonsai4me.com/Basics/Basics_Seeds.html
Apple seeds? *smh* If you would like more info on seed scams, please ask.

I planted F2. Those plants have produced fruit with seeds. Those seeds are generation F3. What else would they be?

If you are asking if I can guarantee they are stabilized, no, I cannot. Unless, of course, they are an heirloom as some ppl suspect.
