For your perusal is a somber Victorian era mourning brooch. This pin is quite intricately designed. The center has a cameo of the profile of a bust. The lady in the cameo has very coiffed hair and her head is adorned with a tiara. She is also wearing a necklace with a pendant and an evening gown.

The outer edge of the cameo is edged with a delicate gold border. Wrapped around this border is a gold chain. This sits atop an oval shaped base that has flowers at the top, bottom, and sides. As you can see in the pictures, some of the metal has turned or worn. Looking at the edges of the pin, it looks as it it was possibly gold plated. It is a really lovely hand made pin.
