The listing, 20+ Heirloom Cherokee Trail of Tears Beans RARE has ended.
A very rare bean carried by the family of Dr. John Wyche over the Trail of Tears. Thanks to his ancestors we have this rare heritage bean available today.
Green 6 inch pods with purple overlay, shiny jet black seeds. Good for snap beans and dried beans. Pole habit. 85 days.
These beans were harvested from the 2014 growing season in my garden which is ALWAYS chemical free, GMO free and hybrid free. Always an excellent producer every year. So much so that it's now the only bean I bother to plant due to it's versatility and excellent production capabilities... not to mention I'm obsessed with saving nearly extinct heirlooms and love to see them dispersed to fellow gardeners who also help save them from extinction. :)
Sow seeds after danger of frost has passed. You'll want to plant them about 2" apart and 1" deep. They will need a trellis, teepee or something else to climb. Pick often to increase production yields but definitely don't forget to let some dry on the plant for seeds!
If you've won seeds from me before you know that I'm generous with my seeds. I always include extra seeds so bid with confidence. :)
