WHAT IS AMAZON ECHO?

Amazon Echo is designed around your voice. It's always on—just ask for information, music, news, weather, and more. Echo begins working as soon as it detects the wake word. You can pick Alexa or Amazon as your wake word. Echo is also an expertly tuned speaker that can fill any room with immersive sound.

Tucked under Echo's light ring is an array of seven microphones. These sensors use beam-forming technology to hear you from any direction. With enhanced noise cancellation, Echo can hear you ask a question even while it's playing music. Echo uses on-device keyword spotting to detect the wake word. When Echo detects the wake word, it lights up and streams audio to the cloud, where we leverage the power of Amazon Web Services to recognize and respond to your request.
Echo's brain is in the cloud, running on Amazon Web Services so it continually learns and adds more functionality over time. The more you use Echo, the more it adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences.
Echo has been fine-tuned to deliver crisp vocals with dynamic bass response. Its dual downward-firing speakers produce 360° omni-directional audio to fill the room with immersive sound. Echo provides hands-free voice control for Amazon Music, Prime Music, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Plus, Echo is Bluetooth-enabled so you can stream other popular music services like Spotify, iTunes, and Pandora from your phone or tablet.

Excellent! I was skeptical because of Siri. That never worked for me. This is so much better though. Definitely a step in the right direction.

Some people get creeped out at first talking to a black pringle like can-and getting an answer. It is an amazing gizmo,sound is terrific & voice recognition is super. Prime makes available a lot of music for free that can be played on this gadget and they promise more additions to the unit in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if some day it will be making phone calls for me.

I do have it, yes. You had to request an invitation to buy it, and that's what I did. Amazon prime members were able to request the invitation. My son bought his first, which is the one I used in the photos/video, and the one for auction I purchased is still in the box sealed. I'll upload a pic of the sealed box too so everyone can see it in my house..lol.

The Amazon Echo is a Bluetooth speaker, so you can connect any Bluetooth-capable device to it wirelessly to play music or other audio. :)

Just a note, I got this for Christmas from my Husband. Best gift I have ever received. The shopping list is the best. Instead of trying to remember to write down the item, I simply tell Alexa to put " " on list and she confirms. 100% recomened.

I love my Echo!! It's voice recognition is far superior than the "Hey Siri" function on the iPhone. Best part is that it's constantly learning new things since it's always connected to the internet. Whoever wins this will be happy with it. :-)

I have one of these, they're awesome! I love saying "Alexa..." Makes me feel like I'm talking to an AI. You can do some pretty cool things up here. I like the "Alexa tell me a joke." feature and last week they updated it, now you can say "Alexa, Simon Says..." I get a kick out of that with my family. Anyone thinking about bidding on this, do it! Especially if you're a alarm or timer setter like me. That's my absolute favorite feature. A simple, "Alexa, set alarm for 9:30" and depending on what time of day she'll know to set it for am or pm on her own. The alarm is sound is very gentle I thought it would be to gentle to wake me, a deep sleeper, up. But that wasn't a problem, plus being woken by the gentle alarm is much better than the "DOOMS DAY COUNTDOWN THIS PLACE IS BLOWING UP" type alarm I had on my iphone. You all know the one I'm talking about. Lol. This is a must have! Bid!

P.S. Suri and Cortana have nothing on Alexa. She's smartest by far and she gets smarter everyday thanks to the cloud! Great auction! :)
