Vates was a real producer in our 2008 garden trials. We had copious amounts of dark green tasty leaves. So much so the rabbits and chickens had a banner year!

32" tall, silvery green, succulent and very slow to bolt.

Best planted early like most brassicas they don't like extreme (90+) heat. Although, because we are on the Pacific Coast we grew Vates Collard Greens all year long with no problem. Try them again as a fall planting if your summers are too hot.
