since the price of silver in 2002 was an average of just under $4.60 it is very likely that this is an ounce of silver. leave it to Las Vegas to give away a $10 token that is worth less than half of that at the time. great auction and a great way to finally beat Vegas by not letting it burn a hole in your pocket for all these years.

Older $10 strikes have approximately 0.60 troy ounces of .999 silver in the center insert. Newer $10 strikes have approximately 0.50 troy ounces of .999 silver in the center insert.
