The listing, Lenox Friendship Silver Plated Heart has ended.

Just in time for Valentine's Day! Perfect to place a small gift for someone you love. Excellent condition. Made in the early 1990's. Rec'd as a gift but never used - long story.

Hoping some Listian will make good use of this heart.

This heart is from the Kirk Stieff Collection with the original tag and box. The box has some shelf-wear but the heart is in excellent condition.

The original gift that came with the box is missing (heart shaped book marker). I will add a special gift inside the heart to replace the original gift - new piece of jewelry.

The heart measures 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and 2" deep. A smaller jewelry or ring box will fit inside.

The card reads:

"The Friendship heart is based on old English folklore. The tradition began when a craftsman created a tiny and beautifully ornate box to give to his wife to show his love and appreciation for her. The following year his wife placed a small gift inside this box and returned it to her husband. Year after year they repeated this gesture of love and appreciation. This tradition soon became popular elsewhere and for years small tokens or gifts were passed back and forth between friends, families & lovers.

I need to add one comment about the dream catcher earrings. On the silver test for the posts - the instructions state that if the color changes to a dark or bright red - the silver is between 90 to 100% and 90 to 80% will be light red or brown.

The dream catcher rings are silver plated, real SS beads, large red czech rondelle beads, silver lame thread with protective all natural coating, silver plated head pin and the feather is silver tone.

It has been kept inside the original box since I got it (about 25 yrs). There was no tarnish on it at all! I just used a jewelry cloth to buff it up.

Yes, my step-father is a gem in the rough form. He applied at least 4 coats of varnish on the cross so it would withstand the elements for many, many years. My other two fur babies are buried along side Odie. Chip and Dale - beagles - brothers. They lived long lives as well.

OMG Lori!! I have this and it was attached to my rott's collar. He passed away last fall & is buried under an oak tree next to the love of his life, Holly the collie outside Duluth Mn. I left his collar on with this locket. I want to go where are furry friends go too. His gift I gave him was a lock of Holly's hair & a pic of Elvis as that was his name. Everybody loved his gentle giant self. Call me sentimental.......BTW it is a gorgeous locket too

Elvis must have been a big boy because the heart is 3 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches and 2 inches deep.
I had a yellow lab and english setter mix named Odie. She was a one of a kind dog. Loved to ride snowmobiles, tractors, go canoeing, camping and so much more. My step-father made a beautiful 3 foot cross made out of redwood for her burial spot. I miss her so much. I had her for almost 16 years.
