The listing, 1/2 oz MERCURY DIME SILVER .999 ROUND BULLION BRILLIANT AND BEAUTIFUL (New) has ended.
Originally released in 1916, the Mercury Dime would be among the last pieces of currency in the US to be composed from genuine silver. Now, to commemorate this remarkable coin, JM Bullion is pleased to present this stunning 1/2 oz Mercury Dime Silver Round. Each round possesses a weight of 1/2 troy oz and a silver fineness of .999. All rounds are guaranteed to arrive in newly minted condition, encased in either a protective plastic sleeve or a sealed tube. Please be advised that although this silver round attempts to replicate an actual coin, it has no legal tender face value and will not be accepted as currency.
The front of the round features Adolph Weinman’s memorable portrayal of Lady Liberty, which he based on Mt. Olympus’s mythical messenger. She is depicted in profile with her hair neatly tucked away under Mercury’s winged helmet. From the warm expression on her face to the details of her iconic cap, artists have taken great care to capture the primary components of Weinman’s original design. Liberty’s name serves as an arched heading above her profile.
Proudly emblazoned across the back of the round is a unique rendition of the heraldic eagle. The image depicts a winged shield, hovering over the nation’s initial and an unfurling scroll. Further enhancing the patriotism of this design are the US flag, which waves proudly above the shield, and a set of 6 stars on each side. Inscribed along the round’s border are its purity and weight, appearing at both the very top and bottom of the round, respectively.
This 1/2 oz Mercury Dime Silver Round offers an inspiring tribute to one of US currency’s most celebrated pieces and is certain to be a welcomed addition to any investment or collection.
