I'm not sure if you knew this, but the Danger Sidekicks servers were shut down on May 31 2011. That means that the phone can be activated for T-Mobile contract plans, not prepaid. Also the only think it can be used for is to make and recieve calls. It can not access the internet or email.

I replied to this earlier but apparently it did not show up. Yes I am aware the servers were shut down. However, I used the phone with T-Mobile prepaid for text and talk only. My sim card worked in the phone, but there was no data access. Thank you for the heads up!

Correct, you will not be able to access internet or instant messaging. However, I was able to talk and text message with my T-Mobile prepaid account.

No, you can use any sim card however, you will only be able to use text and talk - NO INTERNET OR DATA. The servers for the data plan on this phone have been discontinued and T-Mobile no longer offers it for this sidekick. They have a new sidekick phone that is compatible with their new 4g system but it costs a pretty penny. I was able to use my prepaid T-Mobile sim card for text and talk, but no data. Because the T-Mobile prepaid plan was too much for the amount of text and talk I did on a cell phone. I have a tracfone for emergencies.
