In Arizona it blooms in late spring with pointing lavender flowers (last photo). This plant is hardy in USDA zones 7 to 11; it grows where the temperature does not drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. *Important Note: The leaves of this plant are very similar to canibus (marijuana).
I used to own a landscaping company & this is a perfect plant for the high desert, as well as being beautiful. A couple of clients raised their eyes when they first looked closely at the leaves. But, when they saw the unusual, pretty flowers, they knew why I chose it for their yard.
