Description

The listing, Poker Chips - Vintage and so cool! has ended.

Not sure when these were made, but I played with them when I was a kid (we learned poker YOUNG) and I know they were not new then. Box has some minor condition issues, but it is the original box. There are a few of these missing as you can see in the first picture, but you will get all shown. Chips are plain on both sides, no writing and no impressions of any kind. I am not sure what they are made of, some kind of plastic but not what we think of as plastic today. They make a very satisfying sound on a hard surface! Add some real hipster to your weekly games with these! Minimum bid is due to both the cool factor and the increased cost of shipping as they are not super light.

Tired of constantly monitoring the auctions you bid on? Use Listia's max proxy bid system to its full potential! Not sure how it works? Just message me and I will totally fill you in. You can retain your high bid even while you sleep. No more lost auctions for you!

That's hilarious. No thank you! (and the why is in the ad, but the min bid is very fair. If you don't have enough credits, you can always buy more.) Good luck!

I see from your profile that you are new to this site. Welcome! I do hope you do well here. Since you are new, it may benefit you to know that asking to lower the starting bid to even half without giving a good cause is considered poor form. Asking that the bid be reduced as much as you did is either very funny or very rude. I chose to believe you were trying to be funny, much like writing "halitosis" instead of "hilarious" << also funny.

"Dumb credits" are the only way to purchase anything on this site. Without dumb credits you don't get dumb stuff. It's the way of the world. There are two ways to get credits: purchase them with cash you earned or earn them with auctions you list and complete.

I see you also bid on my CD-RW auction, where this explanation is also posted, but I will re-post it here for your edification and that of others who may also be new.

Proxy bidding is easy, just not well explained on this site. Before you bid, think in your head of what the max you would bid on that item is. Then make your bid be that much or maybe a little less, just in case. The system will only use enough of your bid to keep you the high bidder. So if the current bid is 100 and you think you would pay a max of 2000 credits, you can bid 2000 but the system will only take 101 to beat the current bid.

However! if the person who bid before you placed a max bid of 2100, you will automatically be outbid and the new current bid will be for 2001. But at least you will get your 2000 back ; ) Plus you will get a notice that you were outbid. (if you have the Listia app on your smart phone, you will also get a notice on your phone if you have it set up for that)

Also, say you did bid that 2000 and it automatically bumps the bid up to, say 1800, then you know that the person before you had a max bid of 1799 or something like that. If it is close to auction end and/or you see that and decide instead you would pay a max of 3000, you can submit a new bid for 3000 and it will not change the current bid since you are the high bidder. You never bid against yourself. The system will just keep out bidding everyone else until either you win the auction or someone else bids up to 3001.

Does that make sense? I hope so, but if not just tell me what doesn't make sense and I will clarify. It helps to look at a few auctions that are near their end and you can view the bid history. It will show what the max was of everyone who was outbid, but not the max of the current high bidder. Check out some of my auctions, there are multiple bids on most things so you can get a better feel for what I posted here. I do hope that helps! Thanks for asking!

Good luck to you and I hope you successfully find your way around the site after a bit more time.

Forgive the spelling because I'm not sure if it's correct or not but they would be made out of bakalite.

Oh, sure, butter me up so I have a harder time telling you "all of the ones pictured, count 'em". See how you are? Truth is, I didn't want to count them because I'm essentially lazy, but I just pulled up the first pic and it looks like there are 25 in the red row and 19 in the partial row so APPROXIMATELY 94 total. That's my guess and I'm stickin' to it! ; ) Thanks for asking and for the compliment.
