Wow this is a very nice COLLECTORS doll it IS very old. my mother had one just like it when she was a little girl --she was born 82 years ago.!! what is gin? bands r easy to fix its the plaster body repairs that r harder to do...but worth it :)

Composition is a way dolls were made for a long time. They would mix from what I've been told, wood dust with glue & some plaster with color, & form the dolls' parts in molds. Alot of dolls in the '20's, '30's, etc were composition. My momhas her baby doll from the '30's & it's a composition doll. It was a way to mass produce cheaap dolls but they were sturdy.
