Haven't fully tested the battery life, but it seems to hold charge well from the 15 minutes or so of testing that I have done. It is all packaged up and ready for shipment. Otherwise, I would have checked it out for you.

why is the shipping so high

There is a little weight involved with shipping the unit. And since I don't know where I am shipping (who will win), shipping has to be what it is. If someone from California wins for example, I will probably have to put in a few more dollars to ship. $8.99 is not high for this distance. I just shipped a small box to my mom in California and ended up paying $9 for it so I know the cost. Plus I usually get delivery confirmation to let the winner knows where the package is. Shipping is not as inexpensive as it used to be.

Not firm on Paypal, but it seems expedient for me to get items to people quickly. Other forms of payment will take time to process - check, money order, etc... If you win the bid and need other options to pay for shipping, I can work with you. However, I am moving on Monday to Quincy IL and was hopping to get the package in the mail by then to the winner.

Yep. I think that my shipping is reasonable considering that I try to use 3 business day USPS with delivery confirmation. Shipping cost is expensive lately.
