Questions & Comments
rubygreen will you send the info. for the biding to peachiekeehn@yahoo.com thanks
Proxy bidding is easy, just not well explained on this site. Before you bid, think in your head of what the max you would bid on that item is. Then make your bid be that much or maybe a little less, just in case. The system will only use enough of your bid to keep you the high bidder. So if the current bid is 100 and you think you would pay a max of 2000 credits, you can bid 2000 but the system will only take 101 to beat the current bid.
However! If the person who bid before you placed a max bid of 2100, you will automatically be outbid and the new current bid will be for 2001. But at least you will get your 2000 back ; ) Plus you will get a notice that you were outbid (if you have the Listia app on your smart phone, you will also get a notice on your phone if you have it set up for that).
Also, say you did bid that 2000 and it automatically bumps the bid up to, say 1800, then you know that the person before you had a max bid of 1799 or something like that. If it is close to auction end and/or you see that and decide instead you would pay a max of 3000, you can submit a new bid for 3000 and it will not change the current bid since you are the high bidder. You never bid against yourself. The system will just keep out- bidding everyone else until either you win the auction or someone else bids up to 3001.
Does that make sense? I hope so, but if not just tell me what doesn't make sense and I will clarify. It helps to look at a few auctions that are near their end and you can view the bid history. It will show what the max was of everyone who was outbid, but not the max of the current high bidder. Check out some of my auctions, there are multiple bids on most things so you can get a better feel for what I posted here. I do hope that helps! Thanks for asking!
