Description

The listing, misc. yarn lot has ended.

None of these really go together, I admit, but I have had these for awhile and have no reason for them to be at my house! Put them to use, please!

The blue, red and light green (is a light slightly limey sage green, second pic shows color best) are thicker and very soft. The purple and orange are standard poly yarn and the variegated one is some kind of poly blend with greens and browns and a funky texture that is also soft. I'm not a knitter so not sure what it's called. (and not sure how it came to live with me!)

BUYER BEWARE: as you can see in the pics, the blaze orange skein is a bit odd. Not sure how easy it will be to untangle it. You can probably figure it out in two seconds, but I will not mess with this beast! It looks like maybe someone started pulling yarns from the inside or ??? In any case, examine it closely before you bid, please!

Not sure how this whole Listia bidding thing really works? Tired of losing your favorite auctions? Message me or comment below and I will fill you in on exactly how this proxy bid system thingy works!

Hi, Marie, you mean the proxy system? Here is the scoop:

Proxy bidding is easy, just not well explained on this site. Before you bid, think in your head of what the max you would bid on that item is. Then make your bid be that much or maybe a little less, just in case. The system will only use enough of your bid to keep you the high bidder. So if the current bid is 100 and you think you would pay a max of 2000 credits, you can bid 2000 but the system will only take 101 to beat the current bid.

However! If the person who bid before you placed a max bid of 2100, you will automatically be outbid and the new current bid will be for 2001. But at least you will get your 2000 back ; ) Plus you will get a notice that you were outbid (if you have the Listia app on your smart phone, you will also get a notice on your phone if you have it set up for that).

Also, say you did bid that 2000 and it automatically bumps the bid up to, say 1800, then you know that the person before you had a max bid of 1799 or something like that. If it is close to auction end and/or you see that and decide instead you would pay a max of 3000, you can submit a new bid for 3000 and it will not change the current bid since you are the high bidder. You never bid against yourself. The system will just keep out- bidding everyone else until either you win the auction or someone else bids up to 3001.

Does that make sense? I hope so, but if not just tell me what doesn't make sense and I will clarify. It helps to look at a few auctions that are near their end and you can view the bid history. It will show what the max was of everyone who was outbid, but not the max of the current high bidder. Check out some of my auctions, there are multiple bids on most things so you can get a better feel for what I posted here. I do hope that helps! Thanks for asking!
