Description

The listing, Java Moss - Live Aquarium Aquatic Plant Fish Tank has ended.

Java Moss (Versicularia dubyana) is a common aquarium moss belonging to the Hypnaceae family. It attaches to rocks and roots and to driftwood. It is a slow starter until it has established itself.

Java Moss does not require any special attention. It accepts all kind of waters, even weakly brackish, and all kind of light qualities at a wide range of temperature.

It is especially popular among aquariasts raising fry (baby fish), to protect them from cannibalistic adults.

You will receive a medium sized clump (about 3" square in water) of java moss.

I'm in the middle of constructing a planted aquarium using my 60 gallon tank I am using CO2 injection in the water I am beginning to introduce live plants in to the aquarium and taking out the fake ones and I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on some of this java Moss

and I was wondering do you have anymore aquatic plants or aquatic grasses or aquatic vegetation

Sounds awesome. I'd love to see some pictures if you document the transition to the final setup.
I currently have some Broadleaf Water Sprite (not the narrow scraggly stuff, the good ones. ;)

I'm also working on cultivating some banana plant, but that'll be a few months down the line.

Any chance you have any Black Japanese livebearing trapdoor snails? Been looking for some for a while.

Java moss is a little different. I've had it in with Convicts for years and it thrives right along with the fish.

It's kind of funny that you ask about those types of snails there is a community not far from mine that has a giant pond/Lake with water fountains and such that's thriving with them in the summertime I don't know if it's warm enough for them to be in there or out and about now I live in Maryland if you know if they're out now as cold as it is or how to find them in the winter I can look into it

As for my tank I have a auction of a fish net in I posted some photos in the background and two extra photos of my set up now I remind you I'm just getting started with the plants and introducing a few and removing the fake ones I finally have set up everything to acquire the right mixture of the CO2 gas & O 2. Introducing the CO2 is like steroids for plants The only to live plants in the tank were the same size I put one in a week before the other and you can tell which one that went in first it's crazy I also have a giant stump of driftwood with roots coming off of it I'm going to be introducing into the system soon when I find a wait heavy enough then that's when the Java moss comes into play i'll figure out a way to keep you updated on the process let me know about the snails when you have some time

As long as the pond doesn't freeze completely through like a brick they should be fine. It's very important to me that the snails are live bearing and not egg laying. Egg layers take over everything!

How do I tell the difference between live bearing and egg laying they are black Japanese trapdoor snails I looked at some photos in the pond is very huge it doesn't freeze I was just wondering if they buried in the mud when it's cold

I'm not certain about the burying as I'm just learning about them myself.
Here's a little information:

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=1075+1077&pcatid=1077

I'm guessing then if you know for a certainty they're Japanese Trapdoor snails, then they are livebearing and not egg layers (another species). You can always send me a private message on here as well.
