Description
The listing, Victorian era glasses and case by Frank Goodwin, New Britain Conn has ended.
Old spectacles in case. Not bad considering their age. The wire frame is a bit twisted about the bridge and the silvery finish is mostly worn off. The case is embossed with "Glasses by Frank Goodwin new Britain Conn. I believe the family is still in the optometry business. I was actually considering paying them a visit to see if they'll let me get a frame that fits my face in trade lol. Thought I'd give y'all a shot at them though. happy bidding
They are very nice but I have seen several pair of spectacles in antique stores. When looking at them up close, I realized, that changing the lens so I could use them would at best be tricky-either because of size, prescription or mechanics of frame. Also the pairs I have seen were moderately priced. Considering the above, why did you start the bid so high?
I offer free shipping and considering their condition I don't think it's that much. I won't be heartbroken if they receive no bids, but thanks for your input anyway
Ok, I understand. The picture of the sides of the frames, which is usually the area that gets damaged or bent, is so dark that I can't tell if the hinges are also in great condition or if arms are bent. Would you post another picture, please?
