3 pc Mineral Collection: Peacock Ore aka Bornite, Pyrite also called Fool's Gold, Native Michigan Copper Nugget.

Peacock Copper is also known as Chalcopyrite. Due to its color and high copper content, chalcopyrite has often been referred to as "yellow copper". Often referred to as Bornite, Peacock Copper has a rich bouquet of colors. The colors come from an iridescent tarnish that forms on bornite upon exposure to air.

Pyrite (whose name comes from the Greek root pyr, fire), also known as fools gold after its misleading yellow gleam, is a sulfide mineral formed under extremely high pressures and temperatures.

Each set of 3 specimens comes in a see through plastic box with snap, measuring 2.75" x 2". Blue foam inside to hold the specimens in place, and on the back side is an educational information card about the specimen.
