This piece is made for a small child. The cross is very tiny. It actually measures 1/4 by 1/2" and is a swaroski crystal clear cross with black edges. It is hung from a chain which is only 13". The chain is gold tone. If I remember correctly; when I purchased it, it had a tag attached as sterling with gold plating. I am a jewelry designer, but not an expert and by no means will I even take someone's word, unless having it first inspected. As I've been there, done that. Saying all that and not one to mis-represent my items, it could only be gold tone. There are no markings and honestly am not sure there is gold plating over sterling silver, as I do know if something is truly sterling silver, it will be marked. Because there are two types of metal involved, I do not know. Perhaps, one of you bidders who specialize in metals may know. So please before you bid, understand that I cannot be 100% even though the item was tagged as such. I will say this, it is very sweet and perfect for gift giving for christening, baptism, birthday, Christmas or which ever you desire. Comes pkgd in a small decorated gift box. And, as always, please use discretion for the appropriate childs age so it is not a choking hazard. Thanks, and apologize for the lengthy description.
