hahaha sorry.. ok if there's one section red it means the harddrive is the issue.. if there's 3 lit up then its an overheating issue, or xclamp, or the t34 bridge.. I've repaired about 30 of these things and they're very simple to fix.. no chips need replacing!, just thermal paste, or thermal pads. I can tell you exactly how to check and see what the problem is without even opening the box, if you'd like..

yes the paste itself is cheap but i didnt mean just the paste having it put in professionally can be expensive if you do ityourself you will ruin it doue to the fact that you have to take the old paste off resolder a few components and chips then repaste it

Termal paste is not expensive the most expensive one could cost you around $10 but you know you can have from $2 on eBay

just talked to a friend of mine and he informed me the xbox has more than likely the overheat problem where was the xbox kept and if that is the case then the xbox will need all new thermal paste which can be quite expensive

Copy and paste this link and it will tell u about your problem. Yesterday I had the same problem and it WAS the AV cable. The article explains that it can be a simple AV problem like mine was or something worse. Give it a shot. I fixed mine in 1 min... GOOD LUCK

the red light means it has something called red eye. which is usually caused by leaving a game in too long, or by damaging the hard drive. All you need to do is get a new hard drive.

if it is all four lights that means complete motherboard failure and the xbox is absolutely worthless and is nothing more than an expensive paper weight if its one part of the four lights then all you have to do unplug the hard drive and the av cords and plug them back in the av cords

^^ the guy above is incorrect, you can use a xbox 360 very little and still get RROD(red ring of death) not red eye. and the hard drive is not usually the problem. it can be your thermal pads are junk, or the x clamps need rebuilt plates.nothing to worry about can be fixed at home with some know how. fanned:)
