DESCRIPTION: Yard long beans are sometimes called Asparagus beans or Chinese Long beans. This highly prized sweet variety produces long, slender, round stringless pods that grow up to 26” long! Harvest at any immature stage for sautés and stir-fries (12-18” long). This strong plant thrives on heat and is easy to grow. Keep beans picked for continuous bearing on flower clusters of 2-4 pods each; shell mature pods and use as dried beans. The dry beans of this variety are a red color with brown mottling. 30 seeds. 75 days to maturity.

DIRECT SEEDING:
Sow seeds 1" deep, spaced 3" apart in rows 4' apart after soil temperature exceeds 60°F (16°C). Use a pole or trellis to allow the vines to climb.
HARVEST:
Pick pods when they are 18” long or shorter. Watch for expansion of the pod as it matures. Pods are best eaten while tender but mature pods can be shelled for beans.
STORAGE:
Dry the beans completely and store in a cool, dry container for several months to a year.
