The Jacob's Ladder, Mt. Washington Railway. Black and White Photo. Approximate size: 3 1/2 x 5 1/2. Located in White Mountain, New Hampshire. On yellowish paper with a thin white border around the picture. The detail in the photo is excellent. This came from an old album not sure of the date taken. I have other photos from New Hampshire this week.

Ride by rail, from the base to summit of Mt. Washington, that crosses Jacob's Ladder, and pauses for a view beside the awful depths of the "Great Gulf." It is a long and massive trestle, over which the train ascends slowly on its most formidable grade, 1,980 feet to the mile, and at times thirty feet above the rocks.
