Nintendo DS (ニンテンドーDS Nintendō DS?) is a dual-screen handheld game console developed and released by Nintendo. The device went on sale in North America on November 21, 2004. The DS, short for "Developers' System" or "Dual Screen",[4] introduced distinctive new features to handheld gaming: two LCD screens working in tandem (the bottom one featuring a touchscreen), a built-in microphone, and support for wireless connectivity.[5] Both screens are encompassed within a clamshell design similar to the Game Boy Advance SP. The Nintendo DS also features the ability for multiple DS consoles to directly interact with each other over Wi-Fi within a short range without the need to connect to an existing wireless network. Alternatively, they can interact online using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Its main competitor was Sony's PlayStation Portable as part of the seventh generation era.

Questions & Comments

The Original DS, like this and the DS lite CAN play GBA Games. Both of those systems have a built in GBA slot. But the only problem with the DS now is that Nintendo has shut down the Wifi service. Other then that the DS is a great system, for gamers and collectors.. I still have mine. And it's great. I do like the picto chat mode. Don't know why Nintendo took it off of the future DS Systems. I spent hours just making a motion flip book. The DS also has a Built in Alarm clock..

No problems last time it was used only issue is no stylus or charger and it opens and closes fine but the rhf hinge is cracked but it doesn't affect the performance or functionality

I don't have a charger for the DS or gameboy advanced I saw the DS on and working both screens working prior to posting the auction so u have it here in writing if it doesn't turn on then u get ur credits back

I found some other cords but they look like they are for cell phones or aux jacks mabey a mp3 player or video camera if I find anything I'll post it
