This is beautiful, but is a baking dish or candy dish or what?

Since I got this at an estate sale, I don't know what it was originally made or used for. Since the bottom reads that Microwave and Dishwasher use are NOT recommended (plain to see in the pictures), I believe it is just a candy dish or cookie plate.

My home is smoke free, but I can't speak for where I bought it at an estate sale. I do hand wash everything I buy when I get home.
