Description

The listing, rearing horse brass (2) has ended.

Set of two matching rearing horse harness brass pieces. Both very worn, one more than the other. One has more detail and is thicker than the other. Both are stamped ENGLAND on the back. I have no history on them, no idea how old. They were purchased at an estate sale and nobody knew anything they could tell me about them. -free shipping- for the lucky winner, U.S. only.

It looks like there is a third brass something on the right. Is that another harness piece of some kinds? Those two are really nice looking. I'm watching these and fanning you.Hope you fan back.

Yes, the third one accidentally shows a little in this photo. I do have that other harness brass listed separately, check my other auctions to see it. :-)

I personally have not polished them, but people used to take pride back in the day at how highly polished their brass was. You can tell someone polished one of these much more than the other as the detail in the face and tail are worn off. And it's thinner all together than the other. Both do show the wear and patina of used, especially in the darkness of the backs after rubbing leather for who knows how many years. One of these pieces still has the remnants of the gets on it from when it was cast.
