Tool steel is usually 420-J. 1065 is a carbon steel. I could be wrong. It has happened before and I'm sure it will happen again. Any way I like tool steel so will F&W and see what happens.

I copy the description from the website I buy all my knives from. I don't know if it is accurate or not but I haven't ever had problems with the products being described wrong before. I'll look into it just to be sure though. Thanks for bringing it to my attention because I definitely don't want to give inaccurate details to my fans. I'lll let you know what I find out. I looked to be sure I didn't make a mistake & the information described on the knife and the information printed on the back of the knife blade both have 1065 Surgical Steel. The blade also states " Tool Steel" but I don't see anything in the knives description about tool steel. I hope this helps with your question.
