Thanks so much, deborahsgunter! Yes, they are hard to find! I am SO excited to grow my own Lady Slipper seeds.. I ordered this extra set of 25 seeds to share with Listia. I haven't seen or had any of these unusual flowers since I moved from Upstate NY to SC, 15 years ago. I remember picking them by the handfuls in the woods when I was little.. where they grew in abundance in the wild. I was always fascinated by them.. with their peculiar and delicate-looking shape. I forgot about them until recently, when I saw a painting of them on display at our museum. I was surprised to learn that they are now an Endangered Species in most areas.. and it is Illegal to pick them or otherwise remove them from their natural habitat! They can live for over 20 years in the wild or if properly cared for.. :)

They really are pretty. There is a little hole on the top of the balloon-like bloom, like the opening of a shoe. That is where they get their nickname "Lady Slipper". Thanks so much! :)

I'm not really sure what you mean? If you mean doing a GIN, I didn't post one, and you cannot post a GIN after a bid has been placed..

You are right, Jen..about uprooting them from where they are planted...it is illegal. This flower is the state Flower of Minnesota...they are so pretty! Would love to have some...maybe, I will ask my brother in law to find me some seeds there up on Fergus Falls, MN...Happy bidding everyone! God bless!
