The listing, Sambo's Wooden "Nickel" for 10 Cent Coffee has ended.
This wooden nickel (coin / token) is at least 45 years old. The logo on it, of the tiger & Indian boy, was changed in the 70's. (It was part of my 93 year old uncle's collection.)
Only one restaurant still exists, the original location, in Santa Barbara, CA. Check this out, if you're interested:
http://www.sambosrestaurant.com
It measures approximately 1 1/2" in diameter.
This was good for a 10 cent cup of coffee.
As you can see from the photos above, this has a "misprint" or "error".
The logo was not stamped correctly in the center.
Good thing? Bad thing? You decide.
Thanks for your interest & happy bidding! : )
