***“Crafters, Fantasy, Wicca, Pagan,Faerie”***
This auction is for 1 Besom Broom Charm that can be worn on a cord, chain, bracelet, or used for earring, phone charm, or other jewelry making. It is made of “Antiqued Tibetan Silver” Zinc alloy. Contains no Lead!!! It is a nicely sized at 1 and 1/8 inches tall.
Besom is a historical word for what is now known as a broom. A besom is one of the tools used in Wicca. It is used to cleanse the ritual area before circle casting. As a tool, the besom is usually thought of as masculine in nature due to its phallic shape and symbolism. However the besom's components are of both masculine and feminine orientation. The handle is masculine in nature while the bristles is thought of as feminine in nature. The besom is thought to be involved with fairies and it was often utilized in the magical practice of the Middle Ages. Like the cauldron, the besom was an everyday household object and could not be held up as a sign of witchcraft in the courts. This fact elevated their prominence as magical tools, often taking the place of wands and staves. Because of this association they quickly became objects of magickal protection. Besoms were often placed near the hearth of the home to protect the opening, and many pagans still believe a besom at the fireplace will prevent evil from entering. If negativity is a problem, just take your besom and visualize yourself sweeping these feelings out the door. Using the besom to sweep away negativity from a circle site was common practice, one still observed by many pagans.
