Yucca Glauca (Soapweed) forms a clump of narrow, tough, blade like leaves that extend out from a central stalk. Older plants usually have multiple stalks and will form a large spiky clump. The individual leaves have a white thread-like edging that peels loose to hang in curly filaments on the older leaves. The tip of the leaf is hard and needle-like and quite sharp.

Large, charcoal black, papery seeds are fairly easy to germinate but a seedling may take several years to reach a size that is mature enough to bloom. Blooms are dramatic and large. The flowers are mostly greenish white bells forming along a tall, thick, central stalk.
