The listing, VINTAGE 1947 CORO Adolf Katz Brooch open wire works has ended.
I was told by one of the local antique dealers that this is a wonderful brooch from 1947. It has the old style coro signature, but what makes this brooch special is that these were only made for a very short time. (One year) During the war metals were being diverted to the war effort. In order to conserve metal, pieces were made with the open swirl seen on the flowers, the pink layer of the flowers is actually plastic and has a pearlescent sheen to it and I'm not certain what the brown layer is.but I believe they are enameled. All rhinestones are perfect, none are missing. I'm slimming down my collection, grab a piece of wearable history... This would make a great addition to anyones vintage jewelry collection. ***Note the rhinestones are not blue. They are picking up the reflection of my blue shirt as I bend over them to photograph them. The back side is gold, there is no black, again just a reflection... sorry Wish I could get a better shot. Please note, I am not an expert in this field. I just collect whatever happens to catch my eye.
