The listing, 5 Wisteria Vine or Tree Seeds has ended.
There is no mistaking the sweet fragrance of Wisteria as it perfumes the garden, its beautiful violet-blue or lavender blooms cover the vine in mid to late spring. While growing Wisteria is easy, it can quickly overtake everything without proper care.
Wisteria hardiness zones are 5-9. Cut the trailing vines through out the year, then cut back main branches to 3 buds in the dormant season. This will encourage more blooms. It will lose its leaves and flowers in the colder months. But in the spring and summer, the vine will produce 6 inch pods of blue, pink or white flowers that hang like tear drops from the vine.
A member of the pea family, wisteria is a decideous vine that has a long life and may be grown as a vine, tree or shrub. Older plants are nearly drought tolerant and can with stand hot and humid summer heat, though they should be watered weekly. Once established, these plants rarely need fertilizing. When planting new Wisteria, be aware that it may take a few years before blooming.
