Here is a butterfly hair clip that I custom created. I make these for 3 local establishments that resell them in their shops.
This one I used a brown and pink striped ribbon for the butterfly with a pink glitter ribbon body.
These are sewn together then securely attatched to a (saloon) double pronged alligator clip. I have also added a non toxic and lead free non-slip grip. The grip helps it stay better in your hair.
All ends have been sealed so it wont unravel or fray.
This clip measures about 3-1/4 " wide and is perfect for any age. I actually made a similar "set" for brides maids for a wedding!
