Oh no need to be sorry. The 925 stamp is actually a U.S. regulatory stamp which indicates the metal purity is at least .0925% silver. If you know the person you are buying from either creates the item themselves, or buys their stock from a U.S. manufacturer, having a 925 stamp does not always mean it is truely Sterling silver. For the last 3-5 years the jewelry market especially online, has been flooded with imported items that are stamped but not authentic. Because other countries laws are not as strict as the U.S. when it comes to truth in advertising they can get away with it. The best policy is to get a silver & gold acid testing kit, and test everything for its purity regardless of any stamps it may have. I hope that helps :-)
