The listing, ATTN: COIN COLLECTORS! 1944-P Die Crack/ DD.REV, ERROR! Lincoln Coin Cent. DON'T MISS THIS! <-LOOK has ended.

I have another die break for my Listia friends collection! This one is a 1944-P Lincoln Wheat reverse coin. There is a die crack on the reverse above the "O" in "one" that starts from the top of the left wheat ear and continues to the second "U" in Pluribus. Also there is what appears to be a double die. "DD" The "S" at the end of Pluribus shows clear doubling. I have included close pics to view. I removed the coin from the holder to take the pics and then replaced it and re-stapled it. I think it's a little of both, But you can clearly see the two S,s in the pic. I really can't tell about the dented or raised that you are asking.

I really cant tell. Wish I could help more. But you can see a crack in the pics here and a double S. These are all of the pics i have and my dino cam is not working right now to take more.

I'm thinking this is actually a lamination... not a die crack. A lam is a planchet defect where impurities or internal stresses cause a portion of the coin metal to separate from itself. Still very collectible and a great auction!!
