Flowering Quince
Signifies the End of Winter
Here’s why your Garden or Landscape needs this Awesome Shrub:

Incredible blooms that deepen in color with age
Works well in a variety of soil types
Strong plant with high wind tolerance
Makes a great barrier hedge
Fruit can be used in jellies and jams
Beautify your Borders with the Flowering Quince

If you’re in search of a hedge with tons of eye-popping floral coverage, then look no further than the Flowering Quince. Topping out at about 4 feet high, this wide-spreading plant perfectly fills in borders or just about any planting location you choose. An early bloom in March brings vibrant colors to your yard or landscape right at the start of the season. A gorgeous display of either red, pink or orange flowers will begin to flood your shrub as soon as winter releases its icy grip. Tolerant of dry sites and able to withstand strong winds, the Flowering Quince is a great candidate for hedges, borders and barriers.

Flowers, Fruits and Jams, Oh My

Like fine wine, the Flowering Quince’s blooms get better with age. Their bright color turns deeper as the season progresses. The radiant scarlet petals will morph into an unforgettable maroon you'll look forward to each season. As if the show of flowers wasn’t enough, your Quince will reward you with a shower of pale-green fruit that resembles the crabapple. Once they mature to a ripened red, remove the small, speckled fruit and use them to make incredible homemade jellies and jams you won't soon forget.

Few border hedges offer the versatility and functionality you'll find in the Flowering Quince. Get yours today!

Not sure, don't know growing zone for Alaska. You can do a goggle search for Quince Apple bush and read to see if Alaska is on their zone list. You also can do a seach for zones for aaAlaska to see what zone you are in on the Almanac web site. I would do this for you but late for a doctors appointment. Sorry. :)

I think you could because winter of 2013 we had loads of snow and ice on top of that and tempatures on several occasions deeped, below -10 degrees F and this bush e
As young only two years old, and had been moved the year before from a neighbors whom gave me the plant to our yard. It also is planted in an unusual spot, northwest where it could get loads of sun light, it also went through our drought for the past two years.
So it is an amazing plant/bush. We also have had two hard freezes last two months and it is already blooming its red leaves.
They are a red tone in spring and fall. During summer they are green.

If anyone in Alaska wants to try, I will wave the postage this one time only. There are several from Alaska that have asked me about the Quince lately. Remember, a one time deal only. And only in this Auction. :)
