description says does need wireless, it doesnt that is a typo so you do not need to be connected to the internet

will it work for a garmin gps for ur car or computer. i think my gps is 330 will it work on it or is it to strong for it . i don't know any thing about the gps it didn't come with a manual,could u help me thanks

this has a usb plug I dont think it works for gps like garmin, It plugs into a netbook or laptop and uses microsoft streets and trips to navigate sorry about that but if you have a netbook or laptop it will replace your garmin.

Does this come with the software? Microsoft says they sell this for 55 dollars, though it doesn't look exactly the same.

this is the 2010 model same purpose different styles, this would be part # X13-51914 this is coming with microsoft streets and trips yes.

So, this basically turns your laptop or netbook into a gps unit? And, everything needed to use it is included? i.e. software, cords etc.?

yes everything is included it is a navigation system much like garmins but uses your laptop/netbook as the display much larger if laptop is in passenger side and it has voice as well I liked it better than garmin ie larger screen
