Description

The listing, BEAUTIES ! ORCHID TREE ROSE OF SHARON 25+ SEEDS GIFT IDEA !! has ended.

This auction is for a generous 25+ Orchid Tree Rose Of Sharon Seeds. It is a member of the Hibiscus family and very versitale and easy to grow. The seeds come from my own trees.. They can grow to 12 feet if you would love them for a privacy fence. Prune after the flowers quit blooming in late summer, early fall to your desired height. You can grow them in pots for your patio or you can prune to a single stem.
You may plant in late fall directley in the ground. The seeds are hard so I take manicure scissors and make a little nick in them. I like to start now in trays and then transfer where I want them i Start this plant now for great gift giving this holiday season. A started plant, picture and instructions can make a wonderful inexpensive little gift for a teacher, neighbor friend etc. Great wrapped up with a gift bow ! Feel free to copy and save my picture
A little water is all they require. They will have a great start and be established by winter. I would mulch the first year if started in the fall. They can also be planted in early spring. They are not picky about soil. You will have beautiful trees, plants or bushes for many years to come. You can also root very easy buy just planting a branch in the soil with some rooting hormone added or root in a container of water. The trees can also be transplanted any where you would like.
They are hardy in zones 5-9. I live in zone 7. Germination is 10 weeks or less. They are a beautiful fast grower requiring little care. You can save your own seeds at the end of the blooming season when the pods turn brown. Dry in a cool dark place in a paper bag. Store in an envelope for your planting season.
Thanks for your intrest in my auction and please email me with any questions. I ship the next day after auction win.

You may plant these seeds now in the ground. Soak in water overnight or make a nick in the seeds. Water the ground where you want them. Plant no more than 1/4" cover with dirt and mist daily until they pop up. Mulch with leaves burlap, etc this winter. I never have to mulch after the first year. You can also do the same thing with pots. They can be transplanted in the spring. They will have developed a good root system to plant any where you like or leave in pots for large bushes to put in any area you choose
