The most famous photograph on a National Geographic cover-"Afghan Girl" (Located and identified in 2002 as Sharbat Gula, in a refugee camp during Afghanistan War, June 1985 by journalist Steve McCurry. This photograph has been likened to Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and often referred to around the world as "Afghan Mona Lisa".
The magazine is in VERY GOOD condition, has been stored in a case for the past 25 years. Has a 2 cm x 2 cm x 0.5 cm fold in right lower corner, or I'd say "new condition".
The issue also has several articles with AMAZING photographs, including: Great Salt Lake:The Flooding Desert, U.S.-Mexican Border:Life on the Line, Java's Wildlife Returns, ALONG AFGHANISTAN'S WAR-TORN FRONTIER, Fair Skies for the Cayman Islands.
