The listing, 5 Fresh Red Japanese Maple Tree Seeds has ended.

RED MAPLE TREE

Tree/ Perennial Grows to about 15 ft tall
Stays wine red most of the year, turns green with some reddish tinting in the summer
Sun or part shade

Zones 5-9

These seeds come from our beautiful Maple. They are fresh, meaning that they are being harvested right around the time of the auction ending. The seed are generally falling in pairs, so there could be 5-10 in the envelope.

I recommend these for almost any yard. They are not only a colorful addition to the landscaping, but offer just a touch of shade.

They are very easy to grow and maintain. There are very few pests or diseases that plague these trees.

This is a stock photo, I did not take a picture of my tree.

Do these usually grow pretty well from seeds? I heard Japanese maple has to be grafted onto native species' root stock and nurtured carefully in order to grow in North America. The reason I ask is because I want to establish a grove in a remote spot where I can't come back to take care of them very often.

I had never heard that and would have no idea how you would graft a seed to another. I imagine its quite easy to grow them from seed as every year we pull tiny "trees" out of the gutter and the garden. I was going to offer bare root "babies" next spring.
