Did you read my description? if taken care of and stored properly its solar they can run forever. people usually tear them up how they clean them it comes with easy to follow instructions though wipe clean gently with soft dry towel like you would use on your eyeglasses don't use after immediately after eating. don't store it in an igloo or the outdoors in the sahara and i think you will be fine. ive never had one not work on me. maybe people forget it needs lite to charge like a solar calculator thats been in a shut drawer for 5 years. give a little light without burning it for a few seconds and your all set :)

nope just one every few months probably. they run off very low light. just like those calculators that stay in the junk drawer for years. lol.
