yep, i personally reccomend AVG its free, but it has an expired version of norton on it that you can just pay for update.

nope its got max ram at 256... right now the system is technically at its max for ram and software... its still a great system thou, just ahead of its time

windows 6 is vista. it says the min requirements is 512 megs, but if you search there ie vistae to havs a crack that will allow it to run with less. It going to run really slow, thats why I ugraded it from original xp tablet 2001 to tablet 2005, the best use of speed and memory compatibility. But if you have to use vista the crack will make it work,but tablet mode might not function correctly then.

nope, that was my biggest complaint... windows 7 & 8 need minimum of 1 gb of ram and this systems max is 256 megs (which it has).

I noticed it says "travel" in the name and I'm probably asking a dumb question since you have all the specs written but in not tech savvy so can you tell me if I can use this outside my home / not on wifi but connected to a internet service with 3G 4G or something of that nature?
Basically--- is this wifi only?

if you use a cellphone as a "hotspot" then its still wifi. If you use a plug in usb provider (verizon, tmobile, att, etc.) hotspot then its "technically" still wifi. But this unit doesnt accept a network sim (verizon, tmobile, att, etc.) directly, many tablets do not either. But if thats not an option you can use it at any wifi hotspot such as a coffe shop, library, or an airport etc... I hope that answers your questions... I used it for traveling to my clients for presentations and for mobile photoshoots.
