Metal. Gold toned, not sure what it is. Inside is a plastic container with 3 dividers. Maybe for pills? I don't know. Picked it up at the second hand thrift store. It latches open and closed. It isn't spring loaded like the newer style ones, which tend to lose their locking feature over a short period of time. This one has a pic of angels on it that apprears to be wearing off yet it still locks like a champ. That's how I can tell its older. :)

I have seen something there like this, but it pops open fast and a little leaf thing sticks out. I guess for a paintbrush and water dip thing? Not sure? Plus no dividers. Only metal.

I would have gotten that looked at a lot of vintage stuff isn't just gold toned some is real gold and gold is worth $1200 and ounce!

Holy moly. It definetly isn't gold or anything, but it won't spill contents like the spring loaded ones. Thanks for the info too. I have sone gold from different odds and ends of jewelry, that'sgood to know. :)
