This is a nice piece but how do you know it is authentic? Do you have anymore info on it?

I am an antique dealer and have seen a few of these bags in the past. Based on the material used and style of the bag is how I dated the bag. There are no marking on the bag which is indicative to the time period. Also there is an episode of antique road show where this bag was featured along with many other civil war items.
