Description

The listing, Antique Civil War Era Locket w/Tin Type has ended.

Hello everyone,

I have here a part of History. This locket is 150 yrs. plus
in age. I used to have the certificate of authenticity stating this is a Genuine White Topaz in a Gold plated
locket. Has a 24 inch gold chain with a stamped clasp
that says "1/20th 14 ktg". This is a gorgeous locket with a
heart shield on the front with the white topaz in the center.
Surrounding it is the beautiful scroll work so known for
this era. Inside is a tintype of a small toddler child, so sweet to think this child was loved by his mommy and is
long gone in history. This is valuable in a historical,
sentimental, and monitory way. The person winning this wonderful piece will be very lucky to have this in there collection. Please ask if you have any questions.
Thank you all for stopping by.

All my auctions ship FREE with tracking and I ship on fridays and sometimes sooner----all listia rules apply.

correct me if I'm wrong but didnt' the 1/20th 14 ktg stamps start somewhere in the late 1920s , so how can this item from the civil war era have this stamp .

Actually, the law to mark all things was passed in 1883, or there about. As I inherited most of the jewelry I put on listia and the only marking is on the clasp
of the chain, it is most likely the chain was replaced along the way, which I did
about 30 yrs. ago when I started wearing it. It in no way implies, the validity of the locket as a lot of lockets/pendants lose there chains over years. I also used to have the certificate authenticity of the white topaz gemstone in the locket, but have lost it in one of my moves. It was from sears & Roebuck Co. which in this era, was before the gold rush and there was no such thing as a jewelry store. Women of money bought there jewelry in Europe while on tour, or it was bought thru the catalog. I have also seen like it In a reproduction catalog and old advertisings of the era also. Thanks for your question hope I helped.

Hello ms. Debbie, so glad your back, missed seeing you around. Even if it's been a little while, Listeria is changing. Guess greed caught up with some on here. I am bringing out my better things now and getting good credits, just takes more now to win anything. People are selling a lot with starting bids so high.....don't know what happened. Oh well it is what it is. I will watch you and good luck.
